Educational Resources
Since 1981, Montgomery Hospice and Prince George’s Hospice has worked to teach members of the community about hospice services. Recognizing the community’s need for more education, we launched The Center for Learning in 2011. Our goal is to teach the diverse families in our community about grief and end-of-life issues, as well as to share our clinical expertise with other professionals. Note that our speakers are clinicians who are experts in end-of-life care and are working in the field. Over the years, we have established resources for professionals and for our community, including the podcast, “What’s Important to You?“.

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS
Montgomery Hospice and Prince George’s Hospice strive to educate our community about end-of-life care, advance care planning, and grief. Each year, we offer education to our facility partners and the larger community. We collaborate with professionals and community members at:

Community
Our patients and their families often say that they wish knew about hospice sooner. The purpose of our community programs, health fairs, and workshops is to help you learn more about it from a natural perspective. We want to help you acquire more knowledge about what hospice is, aspects of healthcare decision-making that you and your family members can prepare for regardless of any diagnosis, and navigating the emotions that may come with being a caregiver or grieving. We want to engage with you and hear about your questions and concerns, so our community programs are generally interactive and blend both education and organic discussion. We cover topics such as Hospice 101, Grief and Loss, Advance Care Planning, Healthcare Disparities, Self-Care, and more. You can watch past community webinars on our Center for Learning Youtube channel.
